Hotel de Jonker recently received its first guests at Plantage Middenlaan 40. It is a hotel from the Vondel Hotels portfolio of Arjen van den Hof. In addition to De Jonker, Vondel is also realizing a number of other new hotels.

Hotel De Jonker is located in an old butcher’s shop in the center of Amsterdam on Plantage Middenlaan, close to Artis. The hotel owes its name to former butcher “Mr. Jonker”. The interior has a modern and stylish character with a classic touch. The monumental building is characterized by characteristic beams and a special stairwell. These elements have been preserved, as have the tiles of the former butcher’s shop.

Hotel De Jonker

The Jonker is – just like most other hotels in Vondel – a small boutique hotel. There are “only” fifteen rooms in three different room types: studios, suites and deluxe suites. The rooms have kitchenettes.

With the realization of De Jonker, Arjen van den Hof is not yet ready to add new hotels to his group. He is working on a large hotel on the Geldersekade with 84 rooms, the doors of which will open in 2019. In addition, the renovation of a former timber trade into Hotel Overtoomse Houthandel is taking place on the Overtoom. And there will also be a Vondel Hotel in the former COC building on Rozenstraat in Amsterdam. In the spring of 2018, here comes “Hotel Mercier”, a boutique hotel with 44 rooms and two suites in the luxury segment.

In addition, the ambitious hotel collective has announced that a location in Maastricht will be added to the portfolio. Hotel Monastère Maastricht with 54 rooms will open in the first quarter of 2018.

Arjen van den Hof, owner of Vondel Hotels, already runs Hotel Vondel, Hotel Roemer, B&B Herengracht, Hotel JL No. 76, Hotel de Hallen, Apartments Prinsengracht and Apartments De Hallen.

In this transaction Vondel Hotels was advised by 3stone Real Estate.
