After a thorough renovation, Vondel Hotels officially opened the doors of Hotel Monastère Maastricht and Café Louis in the center. The straight-friendly 4-star hotel (co-focused on LHTI guests) and the bistro are located in a former monastery from the 14th century. The hotel has 52 luxury rooms and suites and in the bistro with bar and small terrace on the Boschstraat.
Hotel Monastère Maastricht is the first hotel in the Vondel Hotels collection that opens its doors outside of Amsterdam. The hotel is straight-friendly and aims to make the LGBTI guest feel at home. For example, there is no distinction in the hotel between ladies’ and men’s toilets. The interior of the hotel is “Paris-chic”. A mix of contemporary design and the rich history of the building. Elements characteristic of the history of the building are interwoven with the interior design of the hotel.
Café Louis is located in Hotel Monastère Maastricht and has its own entrance on the Boschstraat. French-inspired dishes are served in the bistro. Including steak tartare, lady steak, boeuf bourguignon and salad with duck liver. The bistro seats 80 people and has a separate cocktail bar and small terrace on the Boschstraat.
